Viptor Says: Halloween Costume Ideas for WordPress Developers

READING TIME: MIN

Hello, guess who’s here? It is I, Viptor Frankenstein! Trick or treat!

Halloween is just around the corner, and a lot of WordPress developers I know are starting to ask me what I’m going to dress up as for the spooky holiday. Since I already introduced my Halloween alter-ego, Viptor Frankenstein, here’s a little backstory of how I decided to go as this character.

So, here’s the deal – you have absolutely no idea how many times auto-correct has changed my name from Viptor to Victor. It’s crazy – we even have an inside joke about that at our WordPress Agency for Development. I get it, though – my name isn’t very popular, here on Earth. However, the name Victor is a pretty common one, and it also belongs to a favourite book character of mine.

Of course, I’m referring to the famous Victor Frankenstein from Mary Shelley’s acclaimed novel “Frankenstein”. And yes – this is one of the first things you learn when you come to Earth – Frankenstein is not the monster, he is the young scientist who creates a sapient creature in his unorthodox scientific experiment.

The cool thing? Me and Victor Frankenstein basically share the same first name… minus one letter… but this is not so significant, right?! Anyways, thanks to auto-correct and my Earth-literature knowledge, I’ll be Viptor Frankenstein for this year’s Halloween party at our WordPress development agency. Woo-hoo!

To make things a little bit more interesting, though, I’ll be a version of Victor Frankenstein from an alternate universe where he conducts out-of-this-world crazy experiments, regarding WordPress website development.

The WordPress developers from Vipe Studio are actually teasing me by saying that this idea of mine is kind of lame, but I don’t really care because I like it. (Let’s face it – my friends are just totally jealous of my bombastic whimsy.)

And so, since I’ve self-proclaimed myself as the king of amazing Halloween costume ideas, I’ve decided to compile a list of cool suggestions you can use to craft your own spooky attire for the holiday, especially if your biggest passion is WordPress website development.

Without further ado, here are some spooktacular Halloween costume ideas for WordPress developers and IT creatures of all shapes and sizes!

1. 404 Error

Oh, no! Error 404: Costume Not Found! The horror! This is a classic one. If you’re working in the industry of professional WordPress website development, then you are most certainly acquainted with the 404 Error.

WordPress and Enterprises United: Delivering Outstanding Development Results

No one likes this status code but since it inevitably appears from time to time, WordPress developers and designers love to play around with it and turn it into a fun and creative message that can invoke a smile on your website visitors’ faces.

You can also use 404 Error as an inspiration for your Halloween costume. All you need to do is tape a sheet of paper that says something witty like “Error 404: Costume Not Found!” to your outfit, and you’ll be sure to make people laugh.

2. Alt Text

Alt Text is another important aspect of every expert WordPress website development. This is the metadata of an image published on the web and it is also one of my suggestions for awesome Halloween costumes. So, how do you make it work?

To dress as an Alt Text this Halloween, I advise you to put on some black jeans, combat boots, and a flannel. From there, all you need to do is tape hyphenated text that best describes what you’re wearing.

And there you have it – now you’re super search engine friendly as you’re fully optimized for SEO. I guarantee you, your friends who work as WordPress developers are going to appreciate your effort!

3. SEO Ninja

Oftentimes, when I scroll through LinkedIn to find expert staff as well as new opportunities for our WordPress development company, I come across creative profile titles, such as “SEO Ninja”.

I actually adore how people from the web development world can get so creative! And what better time to transform yourself into a true SEO Ninja than the night of Halloween? You’ll need just a few simple things.

An all-black outfit, complemented by a black ski mask and a myriad of keywords typed all over yourself, and you’ll be a real SEO Ninja sight to behold! Again, you’ll definitely please your buddies who are professional WordPress developers with this costume as they know better than anyone else how important search engine optimization is.

4. (Monty) Python

Here’s one Halloween costume idea for all of my programmer friends! This spooky season, show your love for programming code and sprinkle it with some British comedy. What do you get from that peculiar combination? (Monty) Python.

If you’re absolutely crazy about the Python programming language just dress up in something that resembles a snake. Opt for colours like olive green and finish off your costume with some snakeskin accessories (bonus points if you find yourself spooky fangs, too!).

If you’re a total nerd like the WordPress developers from Vipe Studio you can also add two coconuts or a gold chalice to your costume. This way you’ll embody Monty Python on his quest for the Holy Grail (or some WordPress website development thingy of your choice).

5. Copycat

From what I’ve seen so far, a kitty cat is a mega-popular option for a Halloween costume. It can be cute, it can be spooky, it can be downright terrifying – this entirely depends on the look you’re going for.

How do you add a programming flavour to the classic cat costume to make it appropriate for WordPress developers, though? Well, just turn yourself into a living and breathing copycat with the help of the popular keyboard macro “CTRL + C” that allows you to copy items from one place to another on your computer.

This tech-inspired costume is pretty easy to assemble – simply put on cat ears, draw some whiskers on your face, and tape a sheet of paper on your costume that says “CTRL + C”. Congrats, you’re a real copycat now, and one who knows the importance of the life (and time) -saving combination of CTRL + C that is so useful in professional WordPress website development!

6. The Blue Screen of Death

There’s nothing scarier on Halloween night than the blue screen of death! You’ll be sure to give your programmer friends chilling nightmares if you choose this costume for your office party.

The blue screen of death is a classic error screen that signals the end of a computer’s useful life. Its morbid name also makes it the perfect Halloween costume idea for WordPress developers.

You can actually find official t-shirts with the blue screen of death copy printed on them. Just do a quick Google search and order one. Alternatively, you can make your Halloween costume yourself by printing the frightening error message on a royal blue t-shirt.

7. Black Hat and White Hat SEO

Here’s another SEO-related costume idea – find yourself a costume-buddy and go together as the black and white hat SEO. I have to admit, I was a little bit confused when I first heard of those terms some time ago. What do hats have to do with SEO, right?! However, my friends from our WordPress Agency for Development explained the matter.

Black Hat SEO refers to the deliberate manipulation of search engine indexes, and it involves some shady practices. White Hat SEO, on the other hand, is the body of approved search engine optimization tactics.

So, if you decide to use this Halloween costume idea I recommend you find an SEO partner-in-crime and have matching costumes with them. One of you should wear a black hat, while the other one should wear a white hat. Just put an “SEO” sticker (or do an “SEO” embroidery) on both hats and have fun with your friend!

8. Java Developer

For the WordPress developers who love Java, I can recommend a fun and simple Halloween costume idea. Just carry around a coffee mug or cut a giant cardboard cup, and voilà – you’re a certified Java developer!

Alternatively, you can wear a gigantic pair of glasses. Wanna know why? There is a famous joke among Java developers that goes: “Why do Java developers wear glasses? Because they can’t C#”.

9. Cloud Computing

If you happen to be a cloud developer, then I can suggest you transform yourself into a giant tech-savvy cloud for Halloween. This is another simple costume idea. All you’re going to need are a bunch of cotton balls or pillow stuffing that you can glue to a plain white t-shirt.

I and the WordPress developers from Vipe Studio will take this costume idea even further, by adding all of your cloud features to the outfit. Think about anything related to cloud computing, such as scalability, agility, accessibility, etc.
