What’s This?: Jack Skellington Goes to WordPress Town
READING TIME: MIN
“What’s this? What’s this?
There’s coding everywhere
What’s this? There’s plugins in the air
What’s this? I can’t believe my eyes
I must be dreaming, wake up, Jack, this isn’t fair
What’s this?”
With these rewritten lyrics from the beloved Halloween/Christmas classic “The Nightmare Before Christmas”, our WordPress Agency for Development wants to wish you a Happy Halloween!
It’s the 31st of October which means that we can all embrace our weirdest, spooky selves and be whatever we want to be for just one night. The WordPress developers and content creators from Vipe Studio are absolutely ready to spend a spooktacular night of festivities full of fun activities.
Speaking of fun activities, one of the best things you can do on All Hallows’ Eve is have a movie marathon with your friends. Whether you like super scary horror films or you prefer the more family-friendly alternatives, one thing is for sure – there is a Halloween movie for every taste.
For our WordPress development agency, there is one cinematic masterpiece, in particular, that just outshines everything else when it comes to Halloween awesomeness. Of course, we’re talking about the one and only eerie work of art that goes by the name of “Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas”.
We. Love. This. Movie. The stop-motion animation, the original story, the music, and the overall unique aesthetic, make “The Nightmare Before Christmas” an instant holiday classic.
There’s been quite the debate whether the movie is better suited for Halloween or for Christmas, but our WordPress development company considers it a gem that can be enjoyed all year round.
However, there is definitely something magical happening when you watch “The Nightmare Before Christmas” on Halloween night. It is just so fitting for the season – if the spooky holiday is the bread, then this film is the butter that goes best with it.
So, where are we going with all of this? Well, as you may already know, here at Vipe Studio, we’re crazy about two things – WordPress website development and pop culture. Because of that, one of our favourite things to do is try and combine WordPress with everything pop culture-related.
This is why we thought we’d celebrate this year’s Halloween by introducing Jack Skellington, the protagonist from “The Nightmare Before Christmas”, to the wonderful and mysterious world of WordPress. How are we going to do this? By sending the Pumpkin King straight into WordPress Town. Hold your confusion, and let us explain.
The Door to WordPress Town
If you have forgotten the details from “The Nightmare Before Christmas”, or are not familiar with the story at all, our WordPress Agency for Development is here to refresh your memory and acquaint you with the adventures of Jack Skellington.
So, in “The Nightmare Before Christmas”, Halloween Town is a fantasy world inhabited by various monsters and supernatural beings – all associated with the spooky holiday. Jack Skellington is the Pumpkin King of this peculiar town, and he helps all of the citizens to organize the annual Halloween celebrations.
However, Jack grows weary of the same old routine and longs for something new and exciting. One morning, when he’s wandering in the woods, the Pumpkin King encounters six trees containing doors leading to other holiday-themed towns.
In the actual movie, Jack chooses to enter Christmas Town, where he’s in awe of the unfamiliar holiday. We’re stopping right here because our WordPress development agency wants to alter some of the details. How so, you may ask?
Imagine the following – what if there was a door on one of those trees, that leads to a town inspired by WordPress website development? Now, we know what you’re thinking – the doors all lead to different holidays, and WordPress is clearly not a holiday.
To that, we say – please, forgive our wild imagination, but we very much like to stretch it this far. So, leave your prejudice on the doorstep, take us by our skeletal hands and let’s go through that magical door together. Of course, we’re taking our darling Jack Skellington with us so we can experience WordPress Town through his pure eyeballs.
Jack Skellington Goes to WordPress Town
So, here we are – WordPress Town – what a sight to behold! Our WordPress development company imagines that Jack Skellington will experience double the awe he experienced in Christmas Town when he enters WordPress Town. Disclaimer: everything is very abstract.
“What’s this? What’s this?
There’s something very wrong
What’s this? There’s admins posting blogsWhat’s this?
The streets are linked with little widgets laughing
Everybody seems so happy
Have I possibly gone daffy? What is this?
What’s this?”
What Jack Skellington clearly sees is a world entirely inspired by WordPress website development.
“There are devs throwing attachments here
Instead of throwing heads
They’re busy building websites
And absolutely no one’s deadThere’s PHP on every window
Oh, I can’t believe my eyes
And in my bones, I feel the warmth
That’s coming from inside”
Our WordPress Agency for Development thinks that Jack’s skull will be absolutely blown away by the super-tech and abstract web development world he finds himself in.
“Oh, look, what’s this?
They’re hanging avatars
They tag? Why, that looks so unique
Inspired! They’re gathering around to hear a comment
Putting content on a page, what’s this? What’s this in here? They’ve got a little core
How queer! And who would ever think?
And why? They’re covering it with tiny little files
They’ve got some plugins and some themes on strings
And there’s a smile on everyone, so now correct me if I’m wrong
This looks like fun, this looks like fun
Oh, could it be I got my wish? What’s this?”
Next, our WordPress development agency imagines that Jack will turn his attention to the lines of code, who are definitely some kind of abstract living and breathing creatures in this bizarre world of WordPress Town.
“Oh my, what now?
The codes are all asleep
But look, there’s nothing underneath
No ghouls, no witches here to scream
And scare them or ensnare them
Only little function things, secure inside their Apache-land
Ahh…
…What’s this? The monsters are all missing
And the nightmares can’t be found
And in their place, there seems to be
Domain names all aroundInstead of screams, I swear
I can hear excerpts in the air
The smell of headers and footers
Are absolutely everywhere”
The journey of Jack Skellington through the magical town of WordPress website development will definitely be the craziest adventure of his (after) life.
“The DIVs, the slugs
They’re everywhere and all around
I’ve never felt so good before
This empty place inside of me is filling up
I simply cannot get enoughI want it, oh, I want it, oh, I want it for my own
I’ve got to know, I’ve got to know
What is this place that I have found?
What is this?
WordPress Town? Hmm…”
Welcome to WordPress Town, and Have a Happy Halloween!
So, there you have it – this was the vision that our WordPress development company has for an alternate retelling of our favourite Halloween movie “The Nightmare Before Christmas”.
In our abstract version of the story, Jack Skellington finds a door to WordPress Town, where he is introduced to the extraordinary world of WordPress website development.
Can he actually grasp everything that he sees there? Probably not, but that doesn’t make it any less fun. He’s a curious and enthusiastic skeleton, so we’re pretty sure he’ll have a good time discovering all there is to know about WordPress.
And who knows? He might even decide to steal some tricks from the WordPress developers of WordPress Town and fully digitize some of the organizational processes at Halloween Town. How cool would that be, right?
Remember that if Jack Skellington is the Pumpkin King, then the experts at our WordPress Agency for Development are the kings and queens of web development! So, if you want to have the perfect mix between world-class professionalism and fun, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us so we can build you a WordPress Town of your own!
To finish this post in the most proper Halloween way possible, we suggest you listen to the marvelous soundtrack of “The Nightmare Before Christmas”.
