Viptor Says: WordCamp Europe 2021 Opens Call for Speakers and Workshops

This year’s WordCamp Europe edition will take place from June 7 to June 10, 2021. This year is the second time WCEU will hold online due to the pandemic worldwide situation. However, the event organizers are using the feedback they got from the last year’s event to improve this one.

The Call for Speakers and Call for Workshops is now open. No matter the fact that the event will take place online, the WordPress community is expecting another successful edition. After the last year’s excellent performance I am sure this year will leave us fascinated by the event.

The Call for Speakers

The speaker applications are now open, and WordCamp Europe encourages first-time speakers to apply in this edition. They can find an inspirational list, posted by the organizers with example topics including advanced development, website performance optimization, security, storytelling, frameworks, etc.

WordCamp Europe 2021 will run two tracks, with two types of presentation formats: the first option is the long talks with a 20-minute- talk and a 10-minute Q&A. The second one is lightning talks with a 10-minute-talk and a 5-minute Q&A. The call for speakers is open until April 24, 2021. After that, the organizers will contact the selected lecturers in the first week of May ahead of mid-May public announcements.

The Call for Workshops

There is also a call for workshops which is currently running. Feedback survey points out that 77% of attendees request the return of the successful tradition of hosting workshops. They have always been well received by the WordPress community since their first release in Belgrade in 2018. This year it is no different. WordCamp Europe 2021 will fulfill the wishes of the people.

Workshоp sessiоns will bе 45 minutеs lоng and the hоsts will hаve workshоp assistаnts аvailable tо thеm А diverse lineup of workshops will be scheduled up, with topics like “Starting with WordPress,” development, SEO, accessibility, security, and many more. You can apply to share your knowledge with like-minded people until the same date as the speakers – April 24, 2021.
