I know you\u2019re most probably aware of this information, but let\u2019s briefly discuss what is The Classic Editor. If someone needs to refresh their knowledge or simply isn\u2019t sure what we are talking about, I hope this comes out as useful.<\/p>\n

The Classic Editor plugin<\/a> is an official WP plugin released in 2018. The idea behind it is to restore the old classic WP editor and the \u201cEditor Post\u201d screen.<\/strong> With its help, users can use plugins that extend the screen and include old-style meta boxes. Moreover, the plugin allows having a consistent experience when editing content.<\/p>\n

This is because every post opens in the last editor that\u2019s been used no matter who has edited it last. Meaning that the plugin will not suddenly stop working on the 31st of December 2021. Three years flew very fast by and showed that the classic WP editor has more life to live. Predicting the future is something that neither can I, neither can my WordPress development company do. However, we\u2019ll be waiting to see what the future holds for the Classic Editor.<\/strong> Maybe this type of traditional editing will not stop existing, even when the support for the Classic Editor reaches the end. Even if its life ends, there will be another editor project if the demand is wide enough – after all, the WP community never gets disappointed.
